Engine: 1989 5.0L H.O. with a Weiand action plus intake manifold, Holley 470 Truck Avenger carburetor, Holley manual fuel pump, MSD Pro-Billet distributor, MSD Blaster SS coil, MSD 6AL ignition control module, Headman Hedders and 2 1/2" dual exhaust with two Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers. How the little Rangers should of come off the production line!!!! |

| In the immortal words of Han Solo -It may not look like much but its got it where it counts-This Ranger is anything but stock. While in the Army living in Germany, my 2.3L 4-banger blew apart on the auto-bahn and rather than troubleshoot the problem, I decided to take advantage of the abundant, BMW filled scrapyards on the military posts. As a result, it now sports a 1983 2.7E BMW straight-six. This conversion is not for the faint of heart! Much cursing and custom-fabrication later, Ive got the engine mated to its original 5-speed BMW manual trans., custom drive-shaft/carrier bearing, Yukon 4.56 ring&pinion (accomodates for smaller BMW tire size + 29in current tires), Detroit locker, James-Duff stage 1 3inch lift plus add-a-leaf helpers in rear, dropped pitman arm, Super-Swamper TSL Radials, and many other mods. Future upgrades will include: wheel spacers to widen front and rear track by 2in, power steering & James Duff bump steer dampener, fog-lights, lumber rack, etc. etc... oh, and a paint job!! |
